Future and Faith in the U.S.

Hey friends,

I’m preparing to reach out to some new friends of Seeds and Water Collective. Some of you have been supporting us and involved from our very formation 3 years ago. Some of you are pretty new and might be wondering what we do, what problems we are trying to solve, and who we are trying to help. No matter where you are on the journey, I’ve created a quick drive by link and bullet point list highlighting some faith trends, problems, and solutions.

We are undergoing dramatic changes in the way people view God, church, and faith in the U.S.

Some people say it’s the next “Reformation”. Below you’ll find some problems, but with problems come opportunities, and we are excited and hopeful about the future of faith.

Some problems with the church

• My Problems with the Church Growth Movement.

• Many Christians (tend to) place the Bible over Jesus and it’s a big problem.

Our culture is begging and pleading for “A 3rd Way”

People are on the edge of their faith

• Pastors are leaving their positions in record numbers.

• Church participation is at an all-time low.

• There is a rising mental health crisis.

• Religion has to stop being a luxury good.

• People are craving good news and through years of cultivating relationships with and experiences for these people, we have discovered the good news that is changing people’s lives.

Our Biggest Hope: We want people to experience Jesus.
